## What Is E-Waste Disposal?

E-waste disposal in Toronto covers computers, monitors, printers, televisions, and small electronics under Ontario Regulation 393/04, which classifies these as designated waste requiring certified processing. Every load is transported to Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) registered collectors - not general landfill. Hard drives are physically sheared before transport on request; a WSIB-compliant two-person crew handles all loading and e-waste segregation.

Electronics are treated as a separate waste stream because of what is inside them. Older televisions and monitors contain leaded glass, circuit boards carry small quantities of mercury and cadmium, and casings are treated with flame retardants. At the same time they hold genuinely valuable recoverable material: copper, aluminium, and trace gold. Electronics are routed separately from the rest of a load, though they can still be collected on the same visit as our

## Common Problems We Solve

### Nobody Will Take The Old Tube TV

A 32-inch CRT weighs 40 to 60 kilograms and is the single most refused item at drop-off points. It has usually been sitting in a basement since the flat screen arrived. We take it, including up a flight of stairs.

### The Office Refit

A floor of monitors, towers, printers, and phones has to disappear before the new fit-out starts, often over a weekend. We schedule after hours and clear it in one visit with a Certificate of Insurance filed in advance.

### Data On The Drives

### Do you take old tube televisions?

Yes. CRT televisions are heavy, contain leaded glass, and are refused by most drop-off points, which is why people call us. We take them from any floor.

### What happens to my old computer?

It goes to a certified electronics recycler where circuit boards, metals, glass, and plastics are separated and recovered. Data-bearing media is destroyed as part of that process.

### Should I wipe my hard drive first?
