What Is Yard Waste Removal?

Yard waste removal in Toronto covers tree branches, brush, sod rolls, topsoil bags, mulch piles, and garden debris from residential properties. Organic material is routed to composting facilities and wood waste chipped at volume - keeping yard debris out of general landfill. A WSIB-compliant two-person crew handles backyard access with wheelbarrows, tarps, and ratchet straps for branch bundles up to 6-inch diameter.

Toronto does collect yard waste, but within weekly limits and with conditions: paper bags or bundles under a set length and weight, only on the correct collection week. That works for routine gardening. It does not work after a hedge comes out, a tree gets pruned, or a lawn gets lifted for a rebuild. For anything past the weekly limit, a single pickup through our junk removal service across Toronto and the GTA clears the lot in one visit.

For those jobs, one truckload clears the whole thing in an afternoon.

What Is Included

  • Loading of the pile as it sits, loose or bagged
  • Branches, brush, hedge trimmings, and leaves
  • Lifted sod, excavated soil, and old mulch
  • Dead plants, broken pots, trellis, and edging
  • Loading by hand from anywhere on the property
  • Diversion to composting and organics streams where the material is clean

Common Problems We Solve

The Hedge Came Out

A mature cedar hedge produces a genuinely enormous volume of green waste, far past anything the City will take in a week. It is also awkward, springy material that fills a truck fast. This is our most common yard waste call.

The Landscaper Does Not Haul

Plenty of landscapers price labour only and leave the debris pile behind, or charge a premium to take it. Booking the haul separately is usually cheaper and can be scheduled for the day they finish.

The Lawn Was Lifted

Sod and soil are the heaviest material we handle short of concrete. A pile that does not look like much can be well over a tonne, which is why we price these by weight rather than by how full the truck looks.

It Has Been Sitting All Season

Piles left through a summer break down, attract pests, and kill the grass underneath. Clearing them takes an hour once a truck is on site.

What It Costs

  • Small pile, quarter truck: $89 to $149
  • Full garden clear-out, half truck: $199 to $279
  • Large landscaping job with sod or soil: $349 to $449

Green waste is priced by volume, soil and sod by weight, and we tell you which applies before booking. If the project also produced timber, decking, or concrete, see construction debris removal and concrete removal in Toronto.

The Difference

Why Choose Us For Yard Waste Removal

No Bundling, No Bags Required

City yard waste rules mean bundling branches to length and bagging leaves. We take the pile as it is, loose, and load it ourselves.

Beyond The Collection Limit

Toronto caps how much yard waste it collects per week. After a hedge removal or a garden rebuild you will be well over it. One load solves the whole thing.

Soil And Sod Priced Honestly

Soil and sod are dense enough to max a truck by weight before volume. We price that upfront rather than adding a surprise at the end.

Composted, Not Landfilled

Green waste goes into organics and composting streams wherever the material is clean, keeping it out of landfill.

Simple Process

How Our Yard Waste Removal Works

  1. 01

    Show Us The Pile

One photo of the heap tells us the load size. Soil and sod are quoted with weight in mind.

  2. 02

    Book A Window

Same-day or next-day. We can collect after a landscaper finishes or on a set date.

  3. 03

    We Load It

Branches, bags, sod rolls, and loose debris all get loaded by hand. You do not need to bundle or bag anything.

  4. 04

    Divert It

Green waste goes to composting and organics diversion rather than straight to landfill.

Yard Waste Removal FAQs

How much does yard waste removal cost in Toronto?

Small piles start at $89 to $149 for a quarter truck. A full garden clear-out is usually $199 to $279, and large landscaping jobs with sod or soil run $349 to $449 because dense material fills a truck by weight.

Does the City not collect yard waste?

It does, within weekly limits, on the right week, in paper bags or bundled to length. After a hedge removal, tree pruning, or garden rebuild you will be well beyond that limit, which is when a single truckload makes more sense.

Do I need to bag or bundle anything?

No. We take the pile loose, exactly as it sits. Bagging it first is fine too, but it makes no difference to the price.

Can you take soil and sod?

Yes, but they are quoted with weight in mind. Soil and sod are dense enough to reach a truck's legal load limit long before the box looks full, so a small-looking pile can be a full-truck price.

Do you take tree stumps?

We take cut logs, branches, and brush. Ground stumps and root balls are heavy and are quoted case by case, so send a photo and we will price it before booking.

What happens to the green waste?

Clean green waste goes into organics and composting streams. Mixed loads with soil, plastic pots, or landscape fabric are sorted before disposal.

Can you collect after my landscaper finishes?

Yes, and this is a common booking. Give us the date and we will collect the debris pile so your landscaper does not have to charge you disposal on top of their labour.

Still have a question?

Call the crew directly and we will tell you straight whether we can take it and what it costs.
